THE BEAUTY OF AMERICA
America is the second largest continent in the world after Asia. Area ± 42.292 million km ². Population: 954 million (estimated July 2013). The continent is generally divided into three parts : North America, Central America, and South America. Geographically, the Americas bounded by: the West is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea, the east by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, north, bordering the Ice Sea and Davis Strait, and south by the South Polar Sea. The countries in the Americas: United States, (Washington, DC.), Canada (Ottawa), Mexico (Mexico City). Antiqua (St. John's), Belize (Belmopan). Dominica (Rosseau), El Salvador (San Salvador), Guadeloupe (Basse-Terre), Guatemala (Guatemala), Haiti (Port au Prince), Islands Grenada (St. George's), Honduras (Tegucigalpa), Jamaica (Kingston), Kosta Rika (San Jose) , Cuba (Havana), Martinique (Fort de France), Nicaragua (Managua), Panama (Panama), Puerto Rico (San Juan), Rep. Dominican (Santo Domingo), Saint Lucia (Castries), St. Vincent & Grenadines (Kingstown), Trinidad and Tobago (Port of Spain). Argentina (Buenos Aires)
Bolivia (Sucre), Brazil (Brazil), Chile (Santiago), Ecuador (Quito), Guyana (George Town), French Guiana (Cayenne), Colombia (Bogota), Paraguay (Assuncion), Peru (Lima), Suriname (Paramaribo), Uruguay (Montevidio), Venezuela (Caracas).
The landscape of the region of the Americas is very different for each direction. This area covers the high mountain ranges, low mountains, plateaus and plains of western basin. Americas region is dominated by a mountain range that extends from Alaska in the north to the southern tip of South America.
The main mountains are the Rocky Mountains (in North America) and Cordelleras De Los Andes (in South America). Smaller mountain ranges (from north to south) is the Alaska Range, Mackenziie Mountains, Coast Mountains, and the Sierra Madre Occidental.
The highest peak of a mountain Aconcagua (± 6,960 m) located in Argentina. Mountains in the west of the American continent including Pacific Sirkum mountain ranges, the mountains active tergolongmasih fire.
The opposite of the west, the middle to the east of the Americas relatively slighter form a plateau and coastal areas. The famous lowland, for example lowlands around the river Mississippi (North America) and the lowlands around the river Amazon (South America).
In the central part of the continent (Central America) found plato, depression, as well as the isthmus. For example, Central Plato (2,500 m) section of Mesa Central Mountains. Plato sectional, and sloped to the north.
Depression Gap separates Nicaragua mountain range that crosses Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Depression is a lowland formed by two large lakes namely Lake Managua and Nicaragua. In the region of the isthmus of Panama.
The northern part of the continent is dominated by the basin. Most lakes in this continent are in North America. The main lake is the Great Lakes (Lake Superior, Huron, Michigan, Ontario, Erie), is the largest lake in the world.
The main rivers that flow in the region of this continent is the Missouri River, the Mississippi, the Rio Grande, the Colorado River, the Hudson River, the Amazon River, San Juan River and the Parana River.
The lowest point in the Americas that is Death Valley (± 86 m below sea level).
Elongated region includes two hemisphere, where the mountain range, as well as the existence of an ocean on the east and west, making the climate in the region of the Americas vary widely.
North American region has a subtropical climate variations (in the area of Florida) to the arctic and subarctic climate in the north. California ocean currents such as the flow of western and eastern Labrador Current from having an important role. Network Great Lakes carry variations in climate in the interior.
Climatic aberrations for example the irregular rainfall in the region. Some climate disruption in the area of North America that often occur, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards and hail. The coldest temperature reached 20 degree C.
The climate in the Central American region is influenced by the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea. The central region is divided into zones of heat temperature, medium, chilled, and frozen. Freezing temperatures only found in high areas. Caribbean Islands influenced maritime climate.
Maritime Caribbean region and the Pacific region is influenced by warm currents from the ocean. Perilously close to the equator, rainfall is higher. Northeast trade winds blowing across the Caribbean to fall.
Variations in climate in the South American region is affected by the altitude of the location and span geographic latitude. Two-thirds of the territory is located in the tropical region. Most areas get a high rainfall that is dominated by tropical rain forests, such as those in the Amazon Basin. Some are experiencing winter climate. Most of the southern region is in dry areas with rainfall of only 100-500 mm per year.
